10 weeks ago I became a mother. Just like that I was entrusted with a tiny life. One to take care of, to watch over, to keep out of harms way. from that wonderful moment onwards I have been doing just that. Spending all my waking hours with her. I can’t help but now know her every little tiny crease. She’s gorgeous, the most beautiful girl in the world, right down to her ear fuzz. At last count she has been the subject of over 1000 pictures all in 10 weeks. I can’t help myself.

About Jen Boxer
I have always been a very nostalgic person. I love memories. I love to keep things to remind myself of lovely places, of wonderful times. I suppose thats why I started taking so many pictures.
When I was a child I had one of those “cartridge cameras” and I used to wait so patiently for the pictures to come back after I had finished a roll. Usually they had those great hues of all 70s prints and the funny square shaped, round cornered formats.
At School my studies of Art allowed me the chance to study some technical aspects of photography and armed with my father’s old Olympus that took two shots to every frame I continued to face my life with a lens securing in front of my face.
My college days studying Graphic Design also taught me more about composition, shape and form and though I loved the photographic component of my course I never at that time took full advantage of what I was learning and let it slip away.
It has only been in the last few years that I have been bitten by the bug again.
After “selling out” and taking art to the commercial extreme by becoming advertising bastard I knew something was missing.
I had no outlets to express myself creatively. And a great fear of subjecting whatever I did creatively to public scrutiny and criticism.
Then I picked up my camera.
Still very much the amateur I continue to try to capture the world as I see it and keep it…so I can always remember it.
I have been fortunate enough to have been able to travel to many wonderful places in recent years and due to my camera I will never forget them.
My latest adventure was my first pregnancy. Another amazing experience to remember. Now I am a mum.
My daughter already has a well documented life. So many images to remember her first few months.
